After decades of concentrating in the areas of estate planning and administration, Bill presently focuses most of his practice time on private foundations, charitable trusts and governance matters for non-profit organizations. Bill is a former Board Chair of The Hyde and Watson Foundation and the Council of New Jersey Grantmakers. He has served, cumulatively, for decades on numerous non-profit Boards of Trustees, including 23 years as a Trustee of The Pingry School, the last 7 of which were as Board Chair. He was one of the founding Trustees of New Jersey SEEDS and served on that Board for many years. Bill presently serves as a Trustee and Executive Director of the E.J. Grassmann Trust and as President of the Union Foundation and the Standish Foundation. He also advises the Board of the Laurents/Hatcher Foundation in connection with tax compliance and fiduciary responsibility. He regularly serves as a speaker or panelist at non-profit conferences and seminars.
